Design research and exploration

Good activity tracking apps already exist so we don't need to reinvent the wheel. But one thing to keep in mind is that most of them are tracking activities that are based on routes (i.e. running, walking, cycling, swimming, etc.).

Learnings
  • Keep the core mechanic (i.e. upload an activity with details) and social (i.e. be able to tag people)
  • Focus on encouraging routines (i.e. reminders to stretch your shoulders throughout the day)
  • Calendar component that's connected to partner studios.
    For example, be able to set a schedule and invite friends for a weekly yoga session in a studio in South Yarra.
  • Connect to global events (e.g. Global Wellness Day)
  • Weekly rewards based on achieving goals

Outcome

An app where users can easily find motivation to do the good simple things regularly, find motivation, build communities and set goals through the challenges.
