Background

As part of an initiative by the Linfox management, their professional staff was allocated six months to complete all the courses and earn their certificate and credential. To achieve this, a high-end SCORM module was required along with a Moodle course to act as a gateway to the learning.

Approach

Although this was a professional learning tool, we set out to adopt a comic-style treatment because it's fresh and easy to digest. The narrative was built from the manager's perspective with scenarios that would fit each lesson's topic. The courses were filled with quizzes and activities along the way to ensure the learners engaged.

Course development

As the first step, we did an exploration phase with the look and feel before establishing the graphic assets. Then we set up a production plan that involves the recording of the educational videos and post-editing. These assets were used for the activities, learning materials and presentation slides that were uploaded to the Moodle platform as part of the SCORM module which can be accessed by the facilitators. For reference, SCORM stands for Sharable Content Object Reference Model, which is a set of technical standards for eLearning software products.

Project results

The course was well received by the learners. As a result it was promoted by Deakin University and James Cook University and also received high praises from the Health Faculty for the outstanding course delivery.
